Multimedia standards and technology including VR, HDR, All-IP delivery
IoT standards and Smart Home connectivity/sensing technology
Position Summary:
Power management IC design engineer will join the effort to develop the-state-of-the-art envelope tracking IC for next generation of mobile broadband technology in Samsung R&D organization in Plano, Texas.
We are looking for a highly motivated engineer with strong IC design/research skills as well as interests in communication systems background.
Position Responsibilities:
Design, simulate and layout of high-performance power converter ICs including DC-DC converter for wideband envelope tracking power amplifier.
Conduct feasibility study with transistor and behavior-level simulation.
Document the results toward final review.
Validate performance of circuits, modules, and systems using standard test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and VSA.
Required Skills:
MS / PhD in EE/ ECE or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
The preferred candidate will have 3+ years of experience in power management IC design
Solid understanding of analog and power IC design fundamentals and DC-DC converter architectures
Design experience in DC-DC converters building blocks like hysteretic comparators, bandgap, opamp and switched-cap circuits
Experience using GaN or BCD process is a plus
Proficient using Cadence and ADS. Experience in Verilog A modelling is a plus
Hands on experience using PMIC test equipment (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, VSA etc.)
Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills
