We are seeking a dedicated Nursing Unit Coordinator to join our diverse team in Bloomingdale and be a part of our life-changing mission. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

Who We Are:


Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs.

With three residential locations - the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents.

The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum.

In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.

Through clinical excellence, caring practice and extraordinary teamwork, Marklund nurses boldly advance the practice of nursing every day.

As a Nursing Unit Coordinator you will make a difference in the lives of our residents in the following ways:


  • Oversee clinical and habilitation services for all residents of the Philip Center
  • Work with pharmacy on all medications and monthly paperwork
  • Coordinate and monitor overall plan of care of residents via primary nursing assignment
  • Prepare data collection for Exceptional Care surveys
  • Facilitate and coordinate inservicing on all nursing policies and procedures
  • Train new employees

Experience and Skills:


Nursing Unit Coordinator Qualifications:


  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), current on the Illinois Health Care Worker Registry
  • Possess current BLS CPR certification for Healthcare Workers
  • Minimum of one year previous managerial experience desired. Knowledge of IDPA, IDPH, and DMH/DD regulations preferred.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements
