About the role:
CLA is seeking a Controller for our Outsourcing division, based in Southern California, specifically in Century City or Pasadena.
Our Outsourcing service aids clients in transforming their businesses through a collaborative approach that helps them manage risks, overcome obstacles, meet deadlines, and find the right personnel for their workforce needs.
Responsibilities as a Controller:
- Assist the accounting team in recording complex transactions
- Review complex account reconciliations prepared by the accounting team
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting and closing processes
- Follow the client's organizational policies, federal and state directives, and current accounting standards
- Conduct a detailed review of the general ledger, financial statements, and necessary work papers
- Prepare work papers for independent auditors if needed
- Analyze and interpret financial data, regularly presenting to the client's leadership
- Develop budgets, analyze discrepancies, and implement corrective measures as necessary
- Review payroll and ensure compliance with payroll taxes
Requirements:
- A BS degree in accounting or related field
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience as a Controller or equivalent
- Background in accounting back-office operations
- Experience in the Real Estate sector is desirable
- Previous public accounting exposure is a plus
- CPA certification is preferred
- Ability to acquire and maintain a comprehensive understanding of accounting software and systems, with QuickBooks knowledge preferred
- Proficiency in relevant software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Willingness to travel to local client sites

The salary range for this position is between $109,000 and $185,000, depending on factors such as location, experience, education, skills, and knowledge.
