    Community Inclusion Supervisor

    Exceptional Family Resources is a leader in providing person-centered services to people with developmental disabilities living in Onondaga and Oswego Counties. We are seeking a fun and energetic person with skills in developing, planning, and coordinating community-based recreation services for people of all ages. The ideal candidate is flexible, organized, self-motivated, and able to create a fun environment for both youth and adults.

    Position Summary: Responsible for the oversight of group recreation, respite, and habilitation services for people with developmental disabilities. Oversee the delivery of Project Explore, Friends Connection, and Community Night Out services. Oversee summer recreation program for multiple sites in Onondaga County. Supervise direct support staff across programs.

    Main Position Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate and oversee 8-week summer programming for teens and young adults at several sites. Activities include swimming, hiking, arts & crafts, water parks, sporting events, games, etc.
    • Develop and oversee day camp program for teens and young adults during winter break. Activities include sledding, ice skating, snowshoeing, hiking, games, and art & crafts.
    • Develop and oversee monthly recreation events including Friends Connection, Kids Night Out, and Friday Night Dances.
    • Supervise and monitor the work of the staff through on-site visits, feedback from service recipients and families, and the documentation provided by staff
    • Oversee ongoing services, work closely with service recipients and their families, care managers, staff, and other service providers to ensure services meet the needs of the person
    • Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff and Site Supervisors for recreation services
    • Develop and maintain safeguards and habilitative plans. Ensure safeguards and plans are implemented by support staff.
    • Network and develop collaborations with community vendors and businesses, other agencies, etc.
    • Ensure services and documentation comply with Medicaid billing requirements and Family Support Services (FSS) guidelines
    • Promote recreational programming to Care Managers, Brokers, families, and other professionals using various platforms, including but limited to presentations, social media, and online marketing.
    Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
    • 1-2 years related experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred
    • Familiarity with OPWDD requirements and oversight of disability services preferred
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Service-related field preferred
    • Reliable transportation required
    • Current auto insurance, valid NYS driver's license, and acceptable driving record required
    • Knowledge of computer systems and usage preferred (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher)
    • Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by EFR's technology policy.
    Starting Salary: $43,195 (higher rate may be available based on experience and education)

    Primary Office Location: Syracuse, NY
