Job Duties:

Coordinating the daily administrative activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance: This includes managing patient appointments, ensuring efficient patient flow by handling check-in and check-out processes, and maintaining organized and up-to-date medical records.

Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality: This involves gathering pertinent information from patients, such as their medical history, current complaints, and vital signs, and accurately documenting this information in patient records while adhering to confidentiality protocols.

Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care if needed: This involves setting up examination rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, assisting healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, and providing support to patients as needed.

Knowledge of billing coding and data entry is a plus: Familiarity with medical billing and coding procedures, as well as proficiency in data entry, can enhance the efficiency of administrative tasks such as billing, insurance claims processing, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families: Medical assistants play a vital role in providing emotional support and assistance to patients and their families by demonstrating empathy, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions.

Communication Skills
  • Spanish speaking must: Fluency in Spanish is essential for effective communication with Spanishspeaking patients, ensuring they understand medical instructions and information and facilitating clear communication between healthcare providers and patients.

The qualifications for the position:_

Fluency in Spanish: Strong proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking patients, ensuring clear and accurate exchange of medical information and instructions.

Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals in a clear, empathetic, and professional manner.

Experience in Medical Administrative Support: Prior experience in medical administrative support, including tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and coordinating patient care activities, is valuable for this role.

Patient Service and Patient Care Experience: Experience in providing direct patient care and delivering compassionate support to patients and their families is important for fostering positive patient experiences and ensuring patient satisfaction.

Knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS), Physiology, Medical Terminology, and ICD Coding: Understanding of basic life support techniques, human physiology, medical terminology, and International Classification of Diseases (ICD) coding is beneficial for performing various clinical and administrative tasks effectively.

Prior Experience in Data Entry and Billing Code: Familiarity with data entry processes and medical billing coding systems, such as Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), is a plus and can contribute to efficient administrative tasks and financial management.
