DSH-Napa has a vacancy for a full-time, permanent Program Director (Safety).
The Program Director is responsible for the administration of a treatment program, including assuring that all program operations, procedures, clinical services, and staff practices comply with established hospital policies and procedures, applicable federal laws, rules and regulations, state licensing requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
The Program Director has overall supervisory responsibility for the nursing staff, Program Assistant, Nursing Coordinator, and Office Professionals assigned to the Program.
The Program Director must have effective communication skills and good organizational skills; be able to collaborate with a variety of disciplines and Departments throughout the hospital; ability to plan and coordinate a mental health treatment program; ability to analyze complex problems and take appropriate action.
They must have knowledge of the Department's Equal Employment Opportunity objectives as well as effective supervision and personnel management techniques.

Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness.
Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres.
Staff is dedicated and committed to delivering high quality, cost-effective, professional services and specialized programs in an environment that promotes continuous improvements in treatment for individuals with mental disabilities.
