Excellent supplemental income opportunity for LBS1 certified special education teachers to work with students with learning disabilities and/or ADHD Work flexible hours of your choice - after school/weekend/daytime, close to home or work, and make a significant difference in children's academic success by tutoring diverse learners on a one-to-one basis. You make your own schedule and decide when you work and who you work with

Chicago Home Tutor places professional educators for in-home, one-to-one tutoring services. (May also meet 1:1 with students at school/library.)


We are looking for tutors who have availability in Chicago-Downtown, Near Northside, Lincoln Park, Logan Square, Lake View, Uptown, Edgewater, Roger's Park, Evanston, Skokie, Jefferson Park, Lincolnwood, Forest Glen, and Edison Park. We also need tutors in the South Loop, Hyde Park, and Beverly areas.


Especially encouraged to apply:


  • LBS1 certified teachers who are
    eager to work 1:1 with students in their homes/schools/libraries
  • Special education teachers who want a flexible, parttime schedule with students during the school day in either home or school settings.
    This can be a great fit for retired special educators.
  • Educators who have experience supporting students with
    executive functioning needs (organization, time management, task completion, etc.)

Job Requirements:


  • Develop and deliver evidencedriven academic instruction for students (PreK12).
  • Conduct assessments of current student skills to determine academic needs (using interviews, record reviews, curriculumbased assessments, etc.).
  • Develop and deliver evidencedriven socialemotional support if needed (behavior plans, social stories, on/off task monitoring, etc.).
  • Monitor student progress and communicate progress to clients and parents (and school if requested by parents).
  • Coordinate tutoring schedules with students/parents/schools.

Essential Qualities:


  • Passion for learning, reliability/timeliness, patience, able to build good relationships with students, parents, teachers, schools and clients.

$ $50.00 per hour
