The Housekeeping Team Leader assists in the overall responsibility for the cleanliness of the hotel; efficient operation of the housekeeping department; and purchase, storage, inventory and control of housekeeping-related items.

This is a part time position.

Additionally, is responsible for associate morale, guest focused hospitality.


  • Ensure that assigned bedrooms, corridors, vending areas and other areas are properly cleaned daily. Inspect these areas daily and submit work orders to the engineering department.
  • Work closely with and gain a working knowledge of Front Office and the necessary aspects of Housekeeping and Engineering.
  • Ensure that all reports are prepared completely and on time.
  • Ensure that an effective and complete training program is in use and that all associates are well trained and re-trained, as needed.

Ensure that accurate inventories are taken:

Guest/cleaning supplies, linens and uniforms monthly.


  • Control overtime through good management and immediate response to problems.
  • Ensure that all associates are hygienically clean and in clean, complete uniforms.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Department to coordinate preventive maintenance scheduling.
  • Conduct monthly department meetings to ensure it is productive and effective monthly department meetings are held and meeting minutes are published and directed. Discuss meeting agendas with Generaln Manager.
  • Follow up to ensure an immediate response to all guest problems and guest correspondence.
  • Ensure that Lost and Found articles are stored properly and that the correct logs are maintained per brand standards.
  • Always be professional and ethical in dealing with guests, associates, vendors and other departments.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.

Job Type:
Part-time

High school education or GED required. Prior hotel housekeeping experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Holiday Inn Express or any other IHG brand hotel background strongly preferred and hotel experience a plus. Feature solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills.
