The Financial Analyst is responsible for performing cost & benefit analysis to assist with prioritizing the Lean Business Cases (LBC) for all strategic and operational initiatives related to Group Benefits insurance products.

This position will utilize a wide range of financial and business analytics to enhance Group leadership's understanding of the business impact of embarking on or abstaining from a particular initiative.

The Financial Analyst will work across the business with members of various finance, actuarial, product, and data stakeholders to develop a streamlined process for validation and realization of the benefits.

Additionally, this role will support the broader FP&A organization in preparing the financial and strategic plans, incorporating the incremental estimated benefits from projects in the annual operating plan.

The role will drive the expense transformation efforts related to group business enhancements in Oracle. This position will also provide expense management and budget support for the Group Finance & Group Executive budgets.


You Will:

  • Scrutinize and model the benefits of various Group Benefits portfolio projects and initiatives, as part of the value capture framework.
  • Build and track project calendar for key decision dates on LBC review process
  • Incorporate benefit realization from value capture process into the annual operating plan, coordinating with business owners and portfolio enablement staff
  • Participate in monthly/quarterly management reporting and analysis.
  • Lead the effort to integrate Oracle Fusion and other systems into the financial processes of expense management and broader FP&A organization
  • Drive the expansion of unit cost monitoring to all Group Benefits functional areas
  • Propel the use of AI & automation software in planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Rationalize trends and Plan variances that are insightful and strategically useful.
  • Champion use of data to support and advance understanding of financial results.
  • Communicate results in a clear and compelling manner to varied audiences.
  • Actively participate in FP&A systems implementations and initiatives.
  • Drive automation of planning, analysis, and reporting as part of finance transformation efforts
  • Develop annual expense budget for Group Finance and Group Executive function, as well as monthly explanation of results, including risks & opportunities for management of these areas.

Qualifications:


You have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, or relevant business experience
  • 5+ years of financial analysis, planning and modeling experience, demonstrating depth of business expertise and analytical aptitude in a complex environment. Insurance industry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to "know the audience", create and present compelling summaries to variety of audiences
  • Strong collaborative skills, proactively seeking to learn from and share with others
  • Ability to work independently and hold self accountable for meeting deadlines, reliability of work, managing projects, and solving problems.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Oracle Planning & Budgeting and Smart View are a plus
Location

  • New York, NY; Bethlehem, PA; or Holmdel, NJ are the preferred locations for this position.
  • The work arrangement will be hybrid (two days per week in office; three days per week working from home).
Travel

  • Periodic travel for team meetings may be required.
Salary Range

$99, $162,955.00
