Director/Office Manager:
H-Town CDL Academy


The Director/Office Manager works closely with all levels of management, staff and state by supporting and performing a variety of highly confidential duties within the training academy as well as support office and traveling personnel.

Implement, Lead, and Drive the training team in all operational disciplines and ensure operational excellence, high productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Execute and follow-up compliant, safe, and efficient training in support of H-Town Training CDL Academy full suite of services. Entrepreneurial mindset leads employees as well as be hands on to build the training school and grow revenue.

Also, calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work harmoniously with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients.


CLASS CHARACTERISTICS:

Key Duties:

  • Regularly review training school performance with team members and key stake holders to ensure service and operational excellence.
  • Develop and assist with vendor relationships and monitor vendors' compliance with state and local office along with Texas Workforce Commission requirements.
  • Provide direction and oversee training to other members within the academy.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring logistics training and safety compliance across the organization.
  • Ensure the team is following appropriate state and local requirements and updating of all departmental records, etc.
  • Monitor timely responses to internal customers and students.
  • Visit customers & vendors whenever required to improve communication.
  • Ensuring that all employees are trained in company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and customer service.
  • Coordinating with other departments such as security or human resources to ensure that any transportation and training needs are met.
  • Managing the fleet of vehicles used by the company to ensure that they are safe and well-maintained.
  • Managing vehicle maintenance schedules, including ordering parts and making repairs when necessary
  • Maintaining relationships with external clients in order to recruit new students.
  • Coordinating with other departments to develop schedules for employees who use company vehicles for work purposes.
  • As needed, assist with administrative duties.
  • Monitor customer service activity to ensure customer satisfaction. Resolve and monitor issues for internal and external clients.
  • Review and approve budgeted items as needed.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.
  • Managing/documenting processes and procedures; ability to analyze information and report findings.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relations with a wide spectrum of employees, officials, and the public.
  • Promotes and demonstrates appropriate respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all work-related contacts.
  • Assist, when appropriate, in preparation and drafting of documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students and colleagues regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Attend various job fairs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or 5years transportation/training experience, preferably in transportation, business, supply chain, and other fields related to logistics,
  • At least 8 years' experience in the Transportation/Logistic/ industry.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience, preferably providing logistics, training, supply chain, and facility support; working with and presenting to senior leadership, stakeholders, and decision makers.
  • Proven experience in maintaining and reporting key logistics metrics and customer data.
  • Previous experience managing remote projects and teams in multiple locations, simultaneously.
  • Must be willing to travel, as required.

LICENSES:


Person(s) hired into this class may be required to either possess at entry or obtain within specified time limits designated driver licenses.

Must possess and maintain a valid class C license and a satisfactory driving record.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:


Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, as well as an outside environment, that could include extreme hot and cold temperatures and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to attend meetings at various sites within and away from the office; strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.


KNOWLEDGE OF:
