Compliance Specialist - Troy, United States - Vanderheyden Hall

This position will primarily conduct audit activities across the spectrum of agency services.Persons in this position will spend a significant portion of time in the field at various Vanderheyden properties, including evenings, overnights, and weekends occasionally.
Persons in this position will be expected to work independently to design, schedule, and conduct audits as well as to issue reports and analyze trends.
Primary Duties and Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) Team or other Vanderheyden Executives in the identification of compliance concerns and audit topics; design of audit procedures; assessment of findings; and dispersal of final reports.
- Develop and maintain audit tools including checklists, reporting documents, and monitoring/remediation plan templates.
- Independently schedule, conduct, and report on a variety of types of audits, including on the topics of service delivery, physical plant, personal allowance, video surveillance, medication administration, corporate compliance, information security, and agency policy.
- Identifies systematic trends through data analysis, including developing remediation and monitoring plans for findings of negative or problematic consequences for the agency or persons served.
- Develops and maintains working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations that are applicable to the various services delivered by Vanderheyden, with a focus on those overseen by OMIG, DOH, OPWDD, OCFS, and SED.
- Develops, maintains, evaluates, and applies a working knowledge of internal policies, procedures, systems, software, file storage, and practices to all services provided
- Prepares for, assists with, and responds to accreditation surveys, state oversight audits, and other external reviews
- Maintains confidentiality in all applicable situations among personnel and about individuals served, in accordance with all regulations and policies
- Participates in inter
- agency work groups, committees, and coalitions to clarify and improve systems, program function, and service delivery
- Attends all required agency and department meetings, trainings, work groups, and functions, and seeks opportunities for training and development for self and others
- Displays flexibility in leading, joining, advising, or providing information to ad hoc teams, committees, work groups, including taking on extra responsibilities when required.
- Incorporates a traumainformed perspective into all operations, as described by the Sanctuary Model
Knowledge and Skills:
- 5 years of experience in human service, legal, compliance, and/or public policy settings, preferred.
- 2 years of experience with quality assurance, audit, and/or compliance activities in the above settings, preferred
- Experience with audits, regulations, or requirements of OMIG, DOH, OPWDD, OCFS, and/or SED, preferred.

- Must maintain a valid New York State driver's license
- Must maintain compliance in all training requirements
- Must be able to complete a portion of work hours during evenings, weekends, and overnights (Approximately 8 work hours/month)
- Must be able to be seated and use computer equipment for several hours a day with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must complete annual Fit for Duty assessment
Pay:
$28.00 per hour
