Job Description· Responsible for monitoring the Engines and Generators and all other operating equipment
· Making rounds of all outside spaces while on duty and recording deficiencies in the engine room logbook and reporting findings to the Captain
· Routinely inspect all areas of the vessel and dock for unsafe conditions, needed repairs, and implementing solutions, documents findings and reports to Captain and Riverboat Manager
· Perform routine maintenance and repairs as directed by the Riverboat Manager
· Oversee the installation and repair of systems and equipment onboard by outside contractors.
· Acts as the Liaison for outside contractors and monitors their work and documents details in logbook
· Arrange fuel and water orders, documents details in Logbook
· Arrange waste water removal and document in Logbook
· Procures materials needed to repair marine equipment and machinery
· Participate in all safety drills and training
· Ensures that all Safety Equipment is present and in good working order
Maintain the cleanliness of the vessel on the outside by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing the deck to keep it clean and orderly;
· Responsible for the cleaning of the vessel interior and exterior (focus on detail cleaning, trash removal, and detail cleaning of restrooms);
· Operate the fire hose, winch, and davit;
· Maintain knowledge and practice of safety procedures in every situation;
· Interact with guests in a discreet, personalized, and professional manner;
· Provide friendly and professional service while assisting guests on and off the vessel, while escorting guests to and from the vessel (if needed), and while making safety rounds;
· Participate in passenger safety drills and actual emergency situations;
· Perform general seasonal maintenance of the vessel, such as, sanding and painting to keep it operable;
· Performs various tasks involved in the maintenance and upkeep of vessel and equipment, this includes cleaning, preventive maintenance, and the making of minor repairs of equipment;
· Interact and cooperate with colleagues at all times;
· Participate in training with the riverboat crew on emergency procedures, safety, and other training activities or sessions provided;
· Proper handling and maintenance of all equipment used;
· To help carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of the vessel;
· Move furniture and equipment on the vessel when needed;
· Make sure the vessel is clean, well-maintained, and ready for travel;
· Executes tasks as assigned by the lead deckhand, riverboat supervisor, riverboat manager, and/or riverboat captain(s);
· Completes duties as prioritized on the duty roster;
· Attends riverboat staff meetings; and
· Adheres to River Willow riverboat procedures and policies, and casino policies
QUALIFICATIONS:
· One (1) year of experience in the same or similar position preferred;
· Must be at least 19 years of age;
· Ability to comprehend, carry out and relay multiple verbal and written instructions effectively with team members at all levels within the organization;
· Must be able to lift, carry, or push 50+ lbs., may be required to continually stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, climb or work in small cramped quarters;
· Must have knowledge regarding proper use of basic hand tools;
· Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends and outside during inclement weather;
· Must be able to operate a fire hose, winch, and davit;
· Must be able to throw and pull lines, and use capstans and kevels to tie off the vessel;
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment;
· Must be able to obtain any certifications needed for this job;
· Must be able to obtain a gaming license as a condition of employment; and
· Must receive a negative alcohol/drug test as a condition of employment.
