YES Prep needs a dynamic Director of College and Career Access with a diverse set of experiences, to make our mission a reality.
As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, build transformative relationships, and eliminate educational inequities to advance social justice.
- To put is simply, you will lead the efforts in strengthening college and career access for all students at YES prep by creating and executing a vision for college and career exposure at all YES Prep campuses.
THE ROLE**- When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
- Creating and executing the vision for 9th
- 12th grade college and career exposure for all campuses that exemplifies our commitment to make college accessible and available for all;
- Growing and strengthening our college partnership program inclusive of our IMPACT partners and an increased focus on local colleges;
- Developing partnerships with external stakeholders (i.e. businesses, colleges, organizations) that provide opportunities for students to gain exposure to future careers;
- Planning and executing districtwide programming and supporting campuses to plan and execute campusbased programming that supports college and career exposure (i.e. Career Fairs, field trips, college visits);
- Maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with external stakeholders including vendors that support our college and career exposure goals;
- Exposing students to lifechanging opportunities by increasing the number of students across the district who participate in summer programs, internships, and employment opportunities;
- Creating a robust set of resources and materials to support campus College Initiatives teams and ensuring consistent implementation across all campuses;
- Leading and facilitating development of college counselors and support the Director of College Readiness with development of Directors of College Counseling;
- Working alongside members of the Home Office College Initiatives team to plan and execute systemwide events such as Senior Signing Day, Junior Spring Trip, and Graduation;
- Additional duties as assigned.

THE MUST HAVES
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited fouryear college or university recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB)
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, policies, and procedures as it relates to student's progression towards graduation and postsecondary plans
- Strong strategic planning skills and project management experience
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to proactively monitor and adjust activities to respond to changing circumstances and priorities to meet goals
- Previous management experience including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of staff
- Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends
- Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
- Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to work urgently in a fastpaced and resultsoriented environment
- Creates and maintains positive working relationships on a team and/or in a highly collaborative enviro
