Description

RequirementsMINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degreein Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Four years of UNIX System Administration experiencewill substitute for Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree inInformation Technology field and two years of experience in UNIXadministration will substitute for Bachelor's degree.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professionalrequired or must attain within one year.
SKILLS: Knowledge of IBM AIX.Capable of monitoring systems performance, disk usage, filesystems, and devices. Ability to program in the Bourne shell.Experienced with TCP/IP and other networking protocols. Proficientin user account management. Ability to analyze and researchproblem independently, ability to explain complex solutions andproblems to users (regardless of their technical ability),excellent problem solving and communication skills, good technicalwriting and documentation skills, all required.
EXPERIENCE:
Four years experience in managing multi-user large Unixenvironments required. Three years experience with Oracle DatabaseAdministration preferred.

-Responsible to: Manager,Technology Services
ENVIRONMENT:
- Bloodbornepathogens-A
General officesetting with exposure to computer room environment. Exposure topatient care and ancillary biohazards. Extended video displayexposure and use of keyboard.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to lift and transfer objects typically notin excess of 50 lbs. May be required to reach objects typically notin excess of 5 lbs. up to 8 ft. above the floor with the assistanceof a step stool. Extended use of video display terminal andkeyboard utilizing sound ergonomic principles.
