Summary Description:

As a Dealership Accounting Specialist you will be responsible for accurate presentation of the financial conditions of the dealership, develop of necessary controls for proper conduct of the business, and maintain reliable records.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead the accounting office team in all required dealership accounting functions
  • Set and create new policies, procedures and training plans for the Accounting Department
  • Establish departmental work schedules, assigning responsibilities of employees, and balancing workloads
  • Manage employee performance, conduct evaluations and mentor employees for better functions
  • Responsible for manufacturer A/R including warranty and rebates
  • Establish the accounting policies, practices, standards and controls of the dealership and supervise the maintenance of all books and records recording dealership assets, liabilities, ownership investments and revenue and expense transactions.
  • Respond to accounting issues as they arise in the daily processing of dealership transactions.
  • Supervise the submission of financial and statistical data to the Dealer Dashboard using dealership management system
  • Compile and organize documents substantiating business transactions, account reconciliations, reports and other records quickly and accurately.
  • Distribute reviewed financial reports, graphs, trend analyses and revised forecasts to management together with narrative comments and verbal discussion to assist in understanding important results and trends and improve financial performance.
  • Supervise the management of cash by accelerating receipts, timing disbursements, and utilizing all available credit facilities to maximize all cash available.
  • Supervise compliance with taxing authority regulations, filing all required tax returns and reports and the remittance of all tax payments on a timely basis.

Qualifications:

  • 4year college degree is required, with a major in accounting preferred
  • 7years minimum experience in accounting including at least 2years experience as a controller
  • Proficiency with at least one accounting software program
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access and Internet
