In this high-level analyst role, you will provide operational support to the support services leadership team for special projects, including performance improvement, quality management, operations, and data initiatives.

You will have an opportunity to use your expertise in project management and data analysis to help senior leaders identify opportunities for efficiency and interface with the Vice President and Director of Support Services.

You will play a vital role in leading exciting projects, developing business plans, creating and implementing strategies to recognize our amazing workforce, as well as serve as a knowledge base for departments throughout the hospital.


This position will support the division across 3 sites:
Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Morgan Stanley Children Hospital, and the Allen Hospital.


Responsibilities:


  • Analyzes critical operational, regulatory, coding, reimbursement and quality of care challenges. Works closely with department managers to identify areas of need and opportunities for improvement. Develops and implements proactive systems to analyze departmental variances. Develops innovative tools and interventions to eliminate variances and improve performance.
  • Implements programs through effective communication and coordination with hospital executives, administrators and department heads.
  • Reviews and updates the budget for all assigned departments. Develops processes that will ensure that the departments are in compliance with the budget. May recommend corrective actions that will enhance budgetary compliance.
  • Develops reports for department Directors to ensure compliance with various regulatory agencies.
  • Prepares, analyzes and develops survey reports, cost reports, and other accounting reports as requested. Assists with the development and preparation of profit and loss analyses.
  • Participates in the development and analysis of business plans for new programs and capital expediters. Assists in the identification of areas of revenue enhancement and cost containment for the hospital.
  • Develops performance improvement initiatives. Implements and tracks outcomes of these programs.
  • Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned.

Preferred Criteria

  • Master's degree in Business, Health Administration or a related field

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in hospital operations, project management and/or strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of Health Care Administration.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation with a solid background in project management to drive strategic decisionmaking and operational efficiency.
  • Strong personnel and communication skills.
  • Financial analysis.
  • Computer Proficiency with strong skills in MS Office suite.
