The Police Directorate is currently establishing a central laboratory for IT forensics.

This central laboratory will address and overcome the special challenges of IT forensics through the use of state-of-the-art technology and the involvement of experts from the IT field.

The laboratory activities include the forensic securing and processing of criminally relevant data, especially from hardware seized during searches (PCs, laptops, mobile phones, tablets, etc.).

This may also involve overcoming existing protection mechanisms of the devices.
