Description

SUMMARY
Perform routine and repetitive duties to operate machines for production operations and set up.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Work from shop prints, work orders, prescribed production procedures to receive stock material, requisition tooling and program to prepare machine for operation.

Check all fluid levels, grease fittings and transmission.

Load programs, insert tooling for touch off of tooling, reference points for dry run of first piece.

Produce first piece with approval or assistance of more experienced personnel for measurement of critical dimensions.

Check production pieces following quality procedures.

Move, lift, carry and place materials in bins and boxes.

Clean work and machine areas.

Change oils and fluids as needed.

Assist other operators to learn machine operations and advance skills to meet expected job performance.

Use data terminal to log jobs and record production data.

Remove and place chips in designated disposal area.

Operate one or more CNC machine, saw and use precision measuring instruments.

Refer questionable conditions to supervisor or appropriate personnel.

Responsible to prepare and submit/record production records, accurate piece counts, reports and forms required by company procedures.


If applicable, when a supplier designated inspector (hardware) is certified by our customer, operator is required to do a minimum of 3 level 1 type orders per calendar quarter to maintain his/her proficiency of certification.


Observe all company policies and regulations including safety, housekeeping and quality of work with support of ISO procedures and standards.


Utilize individually and/or further the use of total quality concepts, tools and techniques to support continuous quality improvement in all processes in which the position participates with a positive "Can Do" attitude.

Support, encourage and maintain a positive team working atmosphere throughout the company.

Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business conditions and changes.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

CW-INSP-200-IN (In Process and Final Inspection for All Manufacturing Departments)

CW-INSP-249-FM (Penn Machine - All Machines Inspection Log)

CW-INSP-249-IN (PMW Codes and Sampling Schedules for Inspection Log)

CW-ID-888-CH (Chips Sorting Chart)


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or nine to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY
- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
