- Responsible for the management and oversight of the electronic and paper client records and the medical records department.
- Maintains compliance with corporate and legal requirements for retention of records. Review, develop, educate/train staff and implement health information plans to assure compliance with state, federal, accrediting and funder organization or regulatory requirements.
- Ensures personnel record compliance for contractors and student licensed practitioners. Leads all aspects of training in myAvatar for contractors and student licensed practitioners.
- Responsible for the protection and privacy of client Personal Health Information (PHI).
- Generate and analyze electronic health record reports. Assist with internal and external audits relating to client records.
- Bachelors' Degree in Health Information Management preferred, with RHIA or HA credentials. Associates Degree with RHIT or Experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of
two years' experience working in the behavioral health, quality improvement, or health information field preferred; related health care and quality management experience may be considered. - Experience in auditing, compliance, surveying, credentialing, and HIPAA regulations is essential.
