Seven (7) years of experience in Project Management, Business Systems Analysis, IT, or related field.

  • A Bachelor's degree will substitute for four (4) years of experience, a Master's Degree will substitute for an additional year of service, a PH.D will substitute for an additional year.

Duties Description


Under the direction of a senior project manager, the Project Implementation Assistant will be assigned to the Project Management Office (PMO) within the Chief Portfolio Office (CPO) and will work to complete project deliverables on various assigned projects within a Project Portfolio or Program Area.

The incumbent will perform tasks across all ten project management knowledge areas—project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, procurement, risk, and stakeholder management—and will liaise with various organizational verticals across ITS and Client Agencies to ensure project scope and business needs, schedule and budgets are developed and executed.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Manage small to medium sized projects throughout the project management lifecycle including QA; risk/issue management; project scoping, project budget and project reporting.
  • Research and manage resource alternatives and potential solutions to meet ITS and Client Agency Business needs.
  • Develop project schedules using project schedule software, identify milestones, dependencies, and critical paths, and identify alternatives for accommodating resource conflicts and/or compressing schedules, if required, and any risks associated with those alternatives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with the project sponsor and relevant representatives and all stakeholders to review project proposal, goals, and intended deliverables.
  • Develop project communication plans, compile detailed project reports, and communicate project status to stakeholders.
  • Record quality metrics concerning the project and product performance; compile project reports and communicate project status.
  • Interact with stakeholders and coordinate the activities of the project team to ensure that the project objectives are met
  • Lead or facilitate project meetings; design, develop and/or refine standard templates to support project management
  • Plan and conduct project analysis sessions, such as project closeouts and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions
  • Prepare project portfolio or project inventory reports
  • Organize and maintain a project management library, project tools repository, or a project management website
  • Assist a higherlevel Project Manager or program area manager on more complex projects
  • Create and maintain a shared project management artifacts repository.
  • Perform a full range of supervisory duties.
