Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager

Job Description:
  • An Assistant Project Manager (APM) is responsible for coordinating and managing project information to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
  • The APM acts in the best interests of the business and client while embodying qualities of a novice leader.
  • Most APMs remain in this role for two to six years, with opportunities for growth and advancement.


Responsibilities:
  • Maintain compliance with HITT's safety standards
  • Ensure accurate documentation is maintained
  • Assist in developing and managing project budgets
  • Create preconstruction RFP packages
  • Participate in project meetings, set milestones, and prepare monthly owner reports
  • Update project schedules, ensure quality control, and manage project logistics
  • Assist in project closeout processes
  • Collaborate with project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business is preferred
  • Equivalent work experience can substitute for a degree, with at least 2-5 years of commercial construction experience
  • Previous experience on commercial job sites is highly desirable
  • Passion for construction and the industry with a focus on quality
  • Proficiency in project-specific software systems like Microsoft Office, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam
  • Strong communication skills, positive attitude, organizational abilities, integrity, and adaptability to changing technology
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse backgrounds and maintain professional relationships

Salary Range:
  • The base salary for this position ranges from $84,000 to $121,000 annually
