St.

Andrew's School seeks a full-time facilities care technician working 40 hours a week, year-round with extra hours on a periodic basis.

Nights and weekends may be required on occasion. Eligible for staff benefits and competitive salary.

St. Andrew's was founded in 1929 as an independent, Episcopal boarding school.

The school educates about 315 students from around the world each year in an all-residential setting, and has a long-standing commitment to financial aid and socioeconomic diversity.

Responsibilities:


  • Variety of cleaning tasks, including but not limited to the following: cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning screens and windows, removing garbage, sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Working independently or assisting other housekeepers as assigned.
  • Assist in setting up special events, which will include moving tables, chairs, and furniture.
  • During summer breaks, work involves cleaning dorms and faculty apartments, which may include cleaning refrigerators, ovens, shampooing carpets, and scrubbing tubs and showers.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be selfmotivated and able to follow directions and work with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to move furniture and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Sustained stooping, bending, lifting and the ability to climb and work on ladders.
  • Ability to work well with others as a team player; pleasant personality essential.
  • Ability to work cleaning machines.
  • Prior housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.

Conditions of Hire:

  • A thorough background check, inclusive of fingerprinting and a Child Protection Registry check, is required as a condition of employment.
  • Applicant must complete satisfactory reference checks, confirmation of compliance with federal and state employment laws, and any other required condition of employment.
  • A physical and drug screen is also required.
