Description

Oil States Energy Services is currently hiring for an HSE Training Coordinator. The HSE Training Coordinator will lead new hire and refresher training and coordinate all aspects of the new employee CERT training program, including training material, records, and studio.

This position will be located in either Lafayette, LA or Houston, TX.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Abide by all Oil States Energy Services Safety and Operational Policies and Procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the QHS&E/DOT Management System.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of applicable customer, federal, state, and local HS&E/DOT regulations or requirements to lead the HS&E Employee Development Process.
  • Lead weekly new hire onboarding (CERT) process and ensure all supporting documentation and records are completed promptly, including ensuring practicals are conducted by local HS&E.
  • Develop and maintain QHS&E training material and supporting HS&E Course Catalog (Classroom, Online, Practicals, and Exercises).
  • Develop and conduct HS&E/DOT training regarding employees and trainers, including timely completion of written documentation.
  • Lead or participate in regular HS&E/DOT training online and inperson audits for field and shop locations as scheduled, including monitoring corrective action to closure as identified.
  • Monitor and communicate the status of current employees requiring Respirator Fit test and ensure local HS&E is completed promptly.
  • Review and respond to analyses of HS&E training statistics and trends to HS&E and the management team.
  • Develop an advanced level of knowledge and serve as the organization's key
    KPA Flex resource and trainer.
  • Participate in industry Health & Safety professional group(s) and maintain a current knowledge of industry HS&E direction and standards (agency & client).
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have knowledge of common best training and safety practices for the oil and gas industry.
  • Must be familiar with a variety of the Oil/Gas field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Must possess solid working knowledge of all tools and equipment utilized by the company.
  • Must be able to drive over state lines up to 70% of the time, depending on district location.
  • Must be able to occasionally work extended hours as necessary.
  • Must be detail oriented and selfmotivated with the ability to prioritize tasks, and with minimum supervision be able to multitask utilizing effective time management to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills to foster effective and consistent working relationship with coworkers, managers, and external customers.
  • Must be team oriented and be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must successfully pass preand postemployment drug and alcohol tests per company policy.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


  • Associate Degree or bachelor's degree and/or equivalent HS&E experience.
  • HS&E Certification preferred.
  • Three (3) plus years' experience in oilfield work or related field.
  • Minimum Five (5) years' HS&E experience in oil and gas industry.
  • Must maintain a safe driving record as required by company policy.
  • Must read, write, and speak English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to frequently lift and move 49lbs or less unassisted. Anything over 75 pounds but less than 150 pounds will require either a lifting device or two employees. Anything over 150 pounds will require a lifting device, per HSE guidelines.
  • Requires standing, walking, and the use of hands to finger, handle or feel. Also requires pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, carrying, sitting, climbing, balancing, reaching with hands and arms, for extended periods of time each day.
  • Requires exposure to moderate noise levels, as well as warm, hot, and cold temperatures.
  • Must be able to work in an environment where safety glasses, steel toe boots and ear plugs are required to be worn at all times.
  • Must have good manual dexterity to perform daily tasks, operate computers and other standard office or Warehouse equipment.
  • Must have vision and hearing within normal range.
