    RESPONSIBLE FOR:

    Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologistsutilize the resonant frequency properties of atoms within amagnetic field to image anatomic and/or physiologic conditions ofthe body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease.

    MRtechnologists perform diagnostic Magnetic resonance examinations inaccordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidanceof the supervising Radiologist. MR Technologists provide patientcare to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, andgeriatrics.

    Qualifications:


    KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Demonstrates competence andproficiency in performing all MRI procedures on
    patientsof all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correctprotocol,
    and utilizes all required equipment.

    • Maintains competencies in all non-scanner relatedcomponents.
    • Accurately follows all established imagingprotocols for exam being performed.
    • Performs qualitycontrol procedures in accordance with the ACRguidelines.
    • Provides quality age specific care inaccordance with prescribed standards and practices.
    • Provides patient education and communications in accordance withprescribed standards.
    • May need to demonstratecompetence and proficiency in performing allradiological
    procedures on patients of all age groups.
    Positions patient, selects the correct protocol,and
    utilizes all requiredequipment.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,ABILITIES

    • Must have a strong knowledge ofcross-sectional anatomy
    • Must be able to perform qualityMR examinations in accordance with all standards.
    • Mustdeliver SAFE care in accordance with the Alway safeprogram.
    • Must be able to provide other technologistsinstruction on the same equipment.
    • Must use AIDET withevery encounter and be proficient with servicerecovery.
    MINIMUM EDUCATIONREQUIRED:


    Graduate of an AMA approved RadiologicTechnology program.

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:


    A minimum of one year experience as aRadiology Technologist and 6 months experience as a MRITechnologist preferred.

    MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BYLAW:


    Registered by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technology in Radiography(R).

    ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:


    BLS certified required. Advancedcertification by the ARRT in MRI (MR) preferred.
