Description

Responsibilities:


  • Report directly to crew leader/foreman.
  • Ability to properly clean and maintain the equipment, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pretrip, post trip inspections and the required reports.
  • Load material or equipment for transport from showup yard to job site and secure as appropriate.
  • Participate in job hazard analysis on a daily basis or as often as conditions change.
  • Ensure safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities
  • Ability to recognize priority issues and escalate accordingly.
  • Set equipment up including the drill, water tanks and grounding machine.
  • Place, remove or maintain underground utilities as directed. This includes laborer duties such as carrying pipe, bags of material and other heavy items, jack hammering, shoveling, tamping, and installing pipe, duct or cable.
  • Perform trenching, missilebore, handhole placement, installation of fiber optic cable, restoration of area and inner duct/conduit and related restoration.
  • Locates other buried wiring/cabling Install underground telecommunications cabling.
  • Assist in securing work sites, equipment and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and safety of equipment and materials.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
  • A good driving record is required.
  • Knowledge of NESC, OSHA, and related state and local codes.
