    The School

    Chatham Hall is a grades 9-12 girls' boarding school located in southern Virginia. The beautiful campus, which is situated on 365 picturesque acres, is the ideal setting for encouraging students to engage in meaningful reflection, foster lasting friendships, and provide a respite from typical distractions. The school community at Chatham Hall, which has a projected enrollment of 135 students from 15 different countries and 14 different states for the academic year, welcomes all who value a girls' education. Grounded in an Episcopal heritage, the warm and welcoming environment helps everyone in the community to feel at home and included. The breadth of diverse perspectives, faiths, ethnicities, and backgrounds create a campus rooted in empathy and respect. The school employs 29 teaching faculty members, 72% of whom have advanced degrees. These faculty members, along with the staff, encourage each student to take on new challenges and carry out the school's mission to "equip curious thinkers to lead lives of impact." Every member of the Chatham Hall community lives with dignity, integrity, and balance, which is a highlight of the experience.

    With an impressive $64.5 million dollar endowment, Chatham Hall is a leader in financial sustainability among all-girls schools. Chatham Hall has recently launched its $35 million dollar Boundless Potential Campaign which will fund the ambitious initiatives of its current strategic plan, entitled Empowering Girls to Better the World. The initiatives in this inspirational and aspirational strategic plan will help Chatham Hall to become the top girls' boarding school in the southeast.

    The Position

    The Director provides innovative strategic leadership in all aspects of the school. This director collaborates closely with the strategic leaders in academics, advancement, development, marketing and engagement.

    Serving on the School's Administrative Leadership Team, the Director of Innovation and Strategic Initiatives will work collaboratively with faculty and the administrative team to ensure that our instructional strategies align with our school's philosophy and mission.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    -Take the lead in implementing academic initiatives school-wide, fostering a culture that encourages innovation and inquiry.

    -Offer coaching, mentorship, and exemplify current instructional strategies to teachers as they incorporate new technologies.

    -Regularly observe classrooms to evaluate the effectiveness of emerging strategies and offer constructive feedback to educators. Director of Innovation & Strategic Initiatives Chatham, Virginia

    -Foster collaboration across disciplines among faculty to create and implement compelling, project-based curricula.

    -Facilitate faculty gatherings and workshops centered on best practices, instructional innovation, and the integration of technology.

    -Assist teachers in developing and refining project-based curricula to address the needs of diverse learners.

    -Contribute to administrative duties and decision-making processes to ensure consistency with the school's educational principles.

    -Coordinate and conduct professional development sessions aimed at enhancing teachers' expertise in instructional coaching and methodology.

    -Engage in ongoing professional development activities related to design, innovation, and technology integration.

    Desired Skills:

    -Proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate instructional strategies and implement data-driven improvements.

    -Capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities within a dynamic educational context.

    -Knowledge of current educational technology and its application to project-based learning.

    -Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

    Required Qualifications:

    -Bachelor's degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

    -Minimum of 3 years' experience in a teaching role with a strong understanding of instructional design, and curriculum development.
