Business Development Specialist


Locations:

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Hourly Rate :
$30 Per Hour on W2 (Without Benefits)


Responsibilities:


  • Under general supervision, works closely with business development manager for the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) + Sustainability and Social Enterprise + Impact Investing practices to coordinate and execute on business development plans and materials.
  • Prepares and updates marketing and business development collateral.
  • Assists in preparing customized pitches/RFPs (including detailed tracking in Salesforce), presentations, and with overall details and logistics of marketing events (as a liaison with events, IT, and CLE teams).
  • Researches and provides input into targeted marketing methods including social media, CLE seminars, organizational affiliations, and initiatives. Assists with firm's awards and directories submissions, working with business development and awards and ranking team members to track deadlines and ensure timely completion of submissions.
  • Supports formatting and finalizing materials and presentations for internal practice and industry group meetings.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for relevant practice and industry groups to maintain Salesforce CRM contacts and relevant mailing lists.
  • Ensures meticulous execution of all projects and work, with data and content consistently accurate and well presented.
  • Attains synergies through effective collaboration.
  • Ensures client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of the position.
  • Additional responsibilities and projects to be assigned on an as needed basis.

Collaborate with Marketing Managers and Staff

  • Identify improvement opportunities through collecting and proactively sharing information with peers and others on the Marketing team.
  • Collaborate closely with managers and staff in all areas of Marketing to ensure strong intradepartmental communication, client service, and seamless deployment of marketing programs. Develop effective relationships with other offices to facilitate business development and marketing events and services.

Awards & Submissions

  • Assist with firm awards and submissions calendar/deadlines, coordinates reminder notifications and update meetings with BD and other relevant stakeholders, coordinates uploading and archiving of submissions and references.
  • Provide additional awards and submissions support as needed.

Client Service, Confidentiality, and Safety

  • Consistently promote and model the Firm's Client Service Principles in leadership, teamwork, work product, and personal interaction.
  • Ensure compliance with the Firm's Information Handling Policy, including safeguarding confidential and personal information, and reporting any suspected breach appropriately and immediately.
  • Adhere to the Firm's General Safety Practices and any unique safety practices for department and building.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing or related field. Two years of relevant experience in professional services marketing; law firm experience preferred.

Teamwork and Applied Skills

  • High degree of motivation, with driving sense of responsibility, accountability, and responsiveness.
  • Excellent writing skills. Ability to prepare focused and specialized written materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail skills in all areas, including writing, copy editing, researching, and managing data.
  • Understanding of best practices for events (inperson and virtual) from planning, logistics, implementation, and proactive followup.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills: ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines. Ability to follow essential instructions.
  • Talent for creating client satisfaction; demonstrated ability to focus on the client value in all work.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work hours needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to keep confidential any information, observations, or viewpoints regarding firm business matters.
