Nature of Work

:


  • This is professional project management work dealing with the planning, designing, permitting, construction, monitoring, controlling, and coordinating the activities of Office of Capital Improvements (OCI) to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.

Essential Functions

:


Reviews capital project proposals to determine project time frame, funding, procedures required to complete the project, including financial close-out, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources for various phases of the project.

Develops and reviews status reports, updates schedules, budget and provides details on critical work activities.

Prepares project reports and presentation materials for the director or designee, clients, and major stakeholders.

Provides on-site project support as required and develops work scopes to meet client goals.

Visits and inspects project sites during different phases ensuring compliance with building plans and codes.

Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

Provides direction and administration of design and construction projects through architects, engineers and contractors.


Plans, assigns
, and reviews the work of a professional staff to ensure success in the monitoring of the work of architectural and engineering consultants and contractors engaged in the design and construction of a variety of simple to moderate city structures and related projects.

Conducts research of past practices
; prepares reports and provides recommendations.

Provides input into the development of the division's budget and other special projects, as assigned.

Coordinates project activities with activities of other governmental agencies.

Supports and participates in Public Involvement and Outreach process during the project's life cycle.

Performs other related work as required.


Minimum Requirements

:

OR


An equivalent combination of education and experience beyond a high school diploma, or its equivalent and two (2) years of the required experience.
