Posting Summary

  • Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Clerical Assistant for the Center of Adult Autism Services (RCAAS) College Support Program (CSP). This position will report to the the RCAAS Administrative Coordinator.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for all stakeholders.
  • Schedules admissions evaluations.
  • Creates marketing and social media content to promote the program.
  • Coordinates events and special projects for centerwide support.
  • Provides information, greets, and directs visitors to proper destination.
  • Coordinates building tours.
  • Tracks meeting minutes.
  • Maintains records and files.

  • Qualifications
    Minimum Education and Experience
  • High school/vocational school education or an equivalent combination of education and/or up to 4 years of relevant office, clerical, or related experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping and/or report writing.

Certifications/Licenses

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders.
  • Expertise in using social media and/or website design/maintenance.
  • Knowledge and use of graphic design/marketing/social media.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • The ability to work in a busy clinic office with frequent contact with individuals with disabilities.
  • A prominent level of interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to multitask in a busy office and prioritize work from more than one senior administrator.
  • The ability to prioritize work and show a high level of initiative.
  • The ability to learn new database and webbased interfaces for data entry and marketing.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.

Equipment Utilized

  • Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in a busy environment with constant interruptions.
