    Responsibilities:
The Group Clinical Documentation Specialist (Group CDS) is responsible conducting clinically based concurrent and retrospective reviews of medical records.

This review is to evaluate that the clinical documentation is reflective of quality of care outcomes and reimbursement compliance for outpatient services provided.

The Group CDS will work closely with the medical staff to facilitate appropriate clinical documentation of patient care.

Other responsibilities include conducting documentation for Physician Quality Reporting Standards, internal audit and monitoring of pertinent MIPS/APMs measures on all selected visits.


Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING


  • Medical Graduate, Dental Graduate, PA or Nursing Graduate required.
  • ECFMG Certificate preferred.
3. 1+ year of clinical experience in acute care setting preferred.


  • Minimum of two years' experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding in an acute care setting preferred but not required.
  • Relevant EMR certificate required within 1 year from hire date if applicable.
  • Basic computer experience required.
  • Use of an encoder software product for code assignment in an acute care setting required
  • Computer data entry with 10-key preferred, with accurate typing speed of 45 wpm preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build effective partnering relationships with physicians, physician office staffs, coding staffs, management staff and facility leadership.
  • Ability to work independently in a time-oriented environment.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with the operation of basic office equipment.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $21.00 to $29.15.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
