Description
The Admission Counselor is responsible for the coordination of service entry into Three Rivers Treatment Center.

The Admission Counselor shall identify immediate needs of inquiry to include symptoms, behaviors, diagnoses, community liaisons, additional service providers, and funding sources.

The Admissions Counselor is responsible for the initial coordination of care with community members including but not limited to: physicians, allied health professionals, Facility emergency departments, convenience care centers, other health care providers, schools, social service and mental health agencies, police, courts, employers and the public at large.

The Admissions Counselor will be responsible for initial psychiatric assessments, insurance verification, identifying immediate clinical needs and coordination of care.

The Admissions Counselor shall coordinate with Department Heads to ensure the service product is appropriate for inquiry and/or referral. The Admissions Counselor is also responsible for the collection of data in relation to the Admissions Department.

The Admissions Counselor will have knowledge of FAPT, CSA, and other community agencies as well as insurance carriers and demonstrate their ability for effective and appropriate coordination.

Applies use of the DSM V to ensure that appropriate clinical criteria are used for screening potential residents.

The Admissions Counselor shall also serve as a resource to reimbursement agents to ensure that treatment resources are appropriate for the potential resident and family.

Partners with the Program Director to identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with community referral sources. Assist Program Director in duties. Identify potential marketing opportunities. Support Facility initiatives, gives actionable feedback, share best practices, and serve as advocate and information source for the Facility.

Maintains strict confidentiality and privacy of students' and residents' personally identifiable health information in accordance with HIPAA privacy rules and Facility policies.

Meets mandatory staff development requirement per the standards of all regulatory and accrediting agencies.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or equivalent with 6 months of experience working with children or associate degree and three months experience working with children, or bachelor?s degree in a Human Services field.

Must be at least 21 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Interdepartmental Regulation of Children?s Residential Facilities.

Experience:
Previous experience in a residential setting preferred

Licenses/Certificates:
Behavioral management certificate within 14 days of employment
