QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in Donor Relations or Development in a fundraising role and/or within a complex organization OR a high school diploma and 10+ years of experience in Donor Relations or Development in a fundraising role and/or within a complex organization.
  • Proven record of solicitation and stewardship of gifts from individual donors ($5,000+) with experience in developing and managing a prospect pipeline.
  • Demonstrated experience with solicitation, stewardship, and recognition techniques, with clear understanding of how donor relations drives engagement, retention, and can increase donor giving over the lifetime of the donor.
  • Ability to relate to highnetworth individuals, top community leaders and diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Working knowledge of giving and charitable vehicles.
  • Ability to create interpretive materials to enable potential donors to understand the YMCA and how they contribute to the achievement of its mission.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability and desire to build strong and lasting relationships with donors and volunteers.
  • Relevant experience with data management and with CRMs, such as Raisers Edge, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, and handle sensitive data in a trustworthy manner.
  • CFRE Certification preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A GRANTS COORDINATOR:


  • Donor Cultivation and Solicitation:
  • Manage a portfolio of individual highimpact donors and prospects, serving as primary liaison for their engagement with the Y to secure renewed, increased, and new donations.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit individual donors at a significant level (approx. $5,000+) through personalized strategies, including facetoface meetings, tailored communications, and special events.

Stewardship:

  • Oversee all solicitation and stewardship materials for portfolio of donors, including letters, proposals, and impact reports.
  • Create personalized strategies to engage individual donors and ensure donors are informed of the impact of their gifts on the community and YMCA programs.
  • Implement effective stewardship strategies to acknowledge and recognize individual donors in meaningful ways.

Research and Data Management:

  • Conduct indepth research to identify new donor prospects able to give at a major gift level, including analytics of internal data points and external information.
  • Utilize donor database to track interactions and moves management, manage donor information, ensure accurate gifts reporting, and analyze giving patterns to inform strategies.

Strategic Planning and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with local YMCA leadership and other team members to develop and implement a comprehensive major gifts strategy.
  • Work closely with branch leadership to understand funding needs and opportunities for donor engagement.

Community Engagement:

  • Work closely with branch leadership and volunteers on annual campaign fundraising strategies ensuring associationwide goals are met. Coordinate with Branch Executive Directors to develop major giving strategies and stewardship.
  • Assist in annual campaign planning and timeline including prospect development and solicitation initiatives.
  • Coordinates gift planning/endowment programs and capital campaign initiatives in collaboration with development team.
  • Represent the YMCA at community events, fostering relationships and increasing the organization's visibility and network.
  • Actively participate in association and support staff and volunteer trainings.
