Phoenix Global is seeking a
General Manager to work at our Mill Services location in
Petersburg. The General Manager plays a crucial role in fostering relationships with mill overseeing budgeting and planning, ensuring product quality, and driving process enhancements. The General Manager oversees day to day operations as well as manages communication between the customer (mill) and Phoenix Global. The position ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines while providing Steel Mill Services.

Overview of Position:
Manages policy deployment in the areas of operational techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures
Provides leadership for employee relations and labor relations through effective and respectful communications, coaching, training and development and business partnering.
Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
Determines operations head count needs and ensures compliance with company policies.
Ensures compliance with company needs for capital investments and improvement projects.
Manages compliance with state and federal regulations.
Maintains ultimate responsibility for the workforce across the shifts.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment as well as an industrial mining enviroment.
This role also leads and directs the workforce in a heavy industrial setting requiring a sense of high-level safety reverence using the required PPE for the environment.

Required Education and Experience:
Minimum of five years of experience in industrial or construction environment (steel mill experience preferable)
Supervisory experience
Valid driver's license
Heavy Mobile Equipment / Mining Machinery Experience
Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations and ability to implement related programs and controls
Ability to understand financial data
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree
