Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge.

The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • RN License issued by the State of California.
  • BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • PALS (must be obtained during 1st year of employment for new employees).
  • Must have at least two (2) years of recent PACU experience.
  • Recent RN experience in outpatient eye surgery or ambulatory surgical environment.
  • Demonstrate UCSD Core Values (Quality, Caring, Integrity, Creativity, Teamwork)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate ideas for all levels of audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • BSN
  • Pediatric recovery experience in a PACU.
  • Acute care experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:


  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, oncall and locations based on the 24hour Medical Center's business needs.

Annual Full Pay Range:
$170,485 - $170,485 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)


Hourly Equivalent:
$ $81.65


Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.

The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
