Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.

The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices.

In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Securities Quantitative Analytics Associate in McLean, VA.


Job Role and Responsibility:

Work independently on the development, testing, and implementation of cutting-edge mortgage valuation and empirical models for the valuation and risk management of mortgage and fixed-income products; Lead complex initiatives and deliverables within mortgage quantitative analytics and modeling; Combine mathematical, programming, and market expertise to provide quantitative strategies to stakeholders to solve complex business problems including capital market business, investment portfolio management, and home lending; Create cutting-edge mortgage valuation and risk models and empirical models to provide key quantitative decision support to identify and quantify the drivers in mortgage securities' market value change for the efficient risk management of large scale mortgage security portfolio.

Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days a week. Position must appear in person to the location listed as the work address.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field. Position requires 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related quantitative analytics role.


Specific skills required:

  • 2 years of handson experience in model design and integration with cloud server, version control, deployment automation, and data warehousing
  • 2 years of experience in fixed income analytics systems including Polypaths, Intex Solutions, and QRM
  • 2 years of experience in developing mortgagebacked securities and interest rate derivative models using stochastic process, probability theory, timeseries, and machine learning techniques
  • 2 years of experience in developing RMBS and CMO pricing model using OAS framework
  • 2 years of experience in manipulating largescale datasets using SQL, Matlab, and R
  • 2 years of experience in working with model validation group to prove the model's conceptual soundness and documenting the model's design, specification, testing outcomes, performance, and monitoring results
  • 2 years of experience with MBS modeling topics including sophisticated term structure model SOFR market model, prepayment/loss model, current coupon model, and primarysecondary spread model
  • 2 years of experience in objectoriented programming language including Python and C++
  • 2 years of experience in optimizing code using multicore CPU parallel processing for large scale computational work
  • 2 years of experience in SAS, R, C++, Matlab, NoSQL, Linux and Unix operating systems, stochastic modeling, statistical model development, model design and performance, and evaluation testing
  • 2 years of experience using BI tools such as Tableau or PowerBI to present analysis to nontechnical
