Responsibilities:


  • Reviews daily deliveries to ensure everything on invoice is properly received
  • Knows how to label and properly store product in designated locations
  • Knows where all kitchen and retail product is stored
  • Knows proper storage methods and food safety protocols for all product received (i.e.,temp readings; FIFO, product hierarchy)
  • Knows difference between the various seafood products being received and can easily identify product
  • Executes proper storage methods for all products
  • Maintains organized storage areas that are easily accessed by all personnel
  • Interacts effectively with delivery drivers and coworkers
  • Reads invoices and checks products according to invoices
  • Lifts and stores large and heavy boxes in high storage areas
  • Understands & communicates in basic English
  • Knows basic sanitation practices and maintains the sanitation checklists
  • Works with consistency and reliability

Qualifications:


  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, learn quickly and show initiative
  • Understanding of NYC health department codes and conduct
  • Willingness to learn and retain knowledge from supervisor
  • Good time management and basic communication skills

Working conditions
This job operates in a prep kitchen and retail environment in the kitchen and/or retail store. This role occasionally uses standard kitchen equipment including knives and appliances. The workspace is on two levels and ability to use stairs is required. No travel required.
