- Serves as a key installation and operational planner, developing, adapting, and implementing a wide range of short and long-range plans and policies for installation support and contingency operations, including Continuity of Operations (COOP), ensuring alignment with command vision and higher headquarters directives.
- Acts as a primary representative in interagency working groups, coordinating and synchronizing operational plans with numerous partners including the Joint Staff, Department of War (DOW), FEMA, and other Federal, State, and local agencies to identify and resolve complex policy issues and planning shortfalls.
- Leads the full lifecycle of exercise planning and execution, from developing objectives and master scenario event lists (MSELs) to facilitating after-action reports. Assesses training readiness, provides inputs to the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS), and briefs decision-makers on total force readiness.
- Serves as the Alternate Special Security Officer (SSO), facilitating the management of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). This includes operating Top Secret information systems, maintaining property and COMSEC accountability, and controlling sensitive documents to ensure the secure dissemination of information.
- Works in concert with the Emergency Management team aiding with planning, coordinating and participation in training exercises from tabletops to full-scale exercises. Writes Operations Orders (OPORDS) and Fragmentary Orders (FRAGOS) for training and exercises as directed.

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: Federal agencies treat active duty service member as veterans, disabled veterans, and preference eligible, when they submit, as part of their application package, a "certification" of active service in lieu of a DD-214, indicating the service member is otherwise eligible and will be discharged or released within 120 days from the date of submission..
