    Description
    Position:

    This role offers you a unique opportunity to join our team at Marten as a Fleet Operations Associate. In this role, you will report to the Operations Manager and take on the exciting challenge of overseeing a small group of professional truck drivers, ensuring their safety and the timely delivery of freight.

    You will receive training on DOT regulations to ensure compliance among the drivers and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate planning, efficient routes, and on-time deliveries for all customer shipments. Developing strong relationships with drivers, maintaining open communication with all parties involved, and thriving in a fast-paced, organized work environment are key aspects of this role.


    Key Responsibilities:
    • Acquire knowledge of transportation and logistics management principles.
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with drivers to reduce turnover and boost productivity.
    • Nurture existing customer relationships to enhance load volume, driver productivity, and profitability.
    • Collaborate with the sales director to grasp customer commitments, network intricacies, and pricing strategies.
    • Learn to optimize internal and external yard operations to maximize equipment utility.
    • Develop expertise in driver payroll, safety measures, counseling, and accident assessments.
    • Contribute to special projects as delegated by the Operations Manager.
    • Offer fresh ideas and recommendations to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and company directives.
    • Perform any other duties as assigned.


    Engagement:

    Engage regularly with drivers, operational staff, customers, and various levels of Marten management.



    Qualifications:

    Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program focusing on Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field within the business domain.
