Job Type Full-timeDescription PRESERVEGENERAL SUMMARYPosition is responsible for welding on a variety of items, which may be subject to heavy stress or load.
Usually welding for mechanical strength.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSBasic skills in oxy-acet.
torch operation, heliarc skills and the ability to weld pressurized applicationUses calipers, weld gauges, tape measures and other welding hand toolsPrepares welded assemblies for cosmetic finishing using grinding and sandingWelds production in various metals using various types of welding processes in various positions anything from 20 gauge to 1/2 plateWelds must pass destructive and non-destructive testing based on certification requirements per individual productSets up fixtures and lay outs for production and prototype piece partsPerforms quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standardsResponsible for the general maintenance of both machinery and plant area, including cleaning and maintenance of welding machines and all tools involved in daily productionPerforms all job assignments as instructed by the Group Lead, Manufacturing Supervisor, Plant Manager and/or Vice President, OperationsAbides by all policies, procedures, and guidelines of the company including good common sense safety practices.

RequirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED3-5 years full time welding experience or technical certificatonRead and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbolsStrong verbal communication skillsFlexible, ability to work in a fast pace constantly changing environment where extra hours may be needed to achieve tight deadlinesMust be motivated individual in achieving excellenceEmployees are required to wear a welding shield or eye protection when not welding and steel toed shoes.
