- Evaluate and optimize Life Edit gene editing systems in mammalian cells to select optimal systems for further therapeutic development.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot protocols for high throughput delivery of Life Edit gene editing systems to primary cells and cell lines.
- Analyze and critically summarize experimental data and present results internally at various team and company meetings.
- Maintain meticulous records of experimental methods, tool development and protocols.
- Participate in other research projects according to company needs.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams and program managers to ensure achieving milestones on time.
- Follow current literature in gene therapy and genome editing and attend conferences.
Requirements: - A background in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or a related field
- Ph.D with 2+ years of experience in a related field is required.
- Broad expertise in mammalian cell culture including experience with multiple cell lines and primary cells, with a preference for working with primary hepatocytes.
- Direct experience delivering genome editing systems to mammalian cells using multiple delivery methods including electroporation, nucleofection and lipofection.
- Experience with modern molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, and NGS. Flow cytometry and ELISA experience is also preferred
- Experienced working with cells in high throughput formats and using automated liquid handlers is preferred
- Experience with maintaining and organizing an ELN and relevant software including Graphpad Prism, FlowJo, Geneious and Benchling.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborate in a team-oriented cross functional environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
