Position Summary:
Assist the Summer School Age Care Site staff in facilitating an enriching, stimulating and developmentally appropriate environment for children grades K-5.
This position will support in-class activities, outdoor play, field trips, snack and lunch times.Summer programming will be designed to promote social growth, enhance self-esteem, provide for mastery of tasks, reinforce child literacy/academic development and develop self-reliance in a child.
One position available.Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Proficiency in the English language. Read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondences, memos with strong technology skills. Mobility and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to ten pounds. Hearing, speech and sight are required. Current first aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain.
Successful work experience with children in center-based, large-group child care settings and developmentally appropriate curriculum experience with school-age children required.
Successful candidates must be available for full time employment between June - August 19, 2024 with a maximum of five non-paid days off.
Requested days off may only be taken between June 2- August 9th. Consistent and reliable attendance is required. Minimum age requirement of 16.Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to build quality relationships with children, parents, site staff and program leadership.
Provide a variety of suggestions for developmentally appropriate activities and child guidance strategies in working with students in the School Age Care setting.
Maintain cooperative staff partnerships, display flexibility in day-to-day situations and relationships and contribute to a positive team environment. Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students.Perform duties within a structured daily schedule and with an awareness of all program standard operating practices, district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Hours/Schedule:
7.5 hours per day/ 5 days per week / June - August 19, 2024
Hours will be 9:00am - 5:00pm
Childcare closed on July 4th
Pay Rate:
A-1-3 / $ $18.91 per hour
