Description

To strengthen our team, we are currently seeking a non-scientific staff member for our Biologically/Chemically-Technical Assistance (m/f/d) position, starting on in Modena, PA.

The
Stiel Lab (Cell Engineering research group) is part of the Chair of Biological Imaging at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Institute of Biological and Medical Imaging at the Helmholtz Zentrum München.

Our work focuses on the development of genetically encoded molecular markers and sensors for innovative imaging techniques, particularly fluorescence and optoacoustic imaging.

These markers and sensors are crucial for imaging techniques in the life sciences, as well as in preclinical research, such as studying the immune system or developmental processes.

The markers and sensors we develop are based on specifically modified proteins. To achieve this, we use strategies of protein engineering, directed evolution, and high-throughput screening. We are also interested in reprogramming entire cells.

The developed molecular tools are used and tested by us at both the level of individual mammalian cells and whole organisms.

Your tasks:

Your tasks will include supporting the researchers in the group, coordinating resources, and managing the laboratory. In addition, the successful candidate will conduct their own research projects in the field of protein and cell engineering.

The main techniques used in the laboratory include molecular biology (PCR, cloning, mutagenesis), protein biochemistry (purification and analysis), spectroscopy
