AP Proctor Job Description


Position Title:
Advanced Placement Proctor at Charlottesville High School


Job Goal:


AP Proctors are responsible for distributing exam materials, following exam instructions, closely monitoring exams to ensure all protocols are followed.

Proctors should be organized, comfortable speaking in front of students, and have a strong attention to detail. All exam proctoring and the training will happen at Charlottesville High School.


Responsibilities:


  • Attend proctor training in late April (time of training TBD, individual trainings can be arranged according to proctor's schedule).
  • Monitor exam security.
  • Proctor exams according to the AP instructions including: distributing exams, reading instructions, monitoring students, collecting and counting exams, keeping exam materials secure until returning them to the AP Coordinator in the office
  • Contact the AP Coordinator immediately for any concerns during the exam.

Requirements:


  • AP Proctors must be responsible adults; they may not be high school students.
  • AP Proctors may not be employed part or full time at a test preparation company.
  • AP Proctors may not participate in any coaching activity that addresses the content of secure College Board tests.
  • Be able to lift 1015 lbs.
  • Please note that you cannot proctor if a member of your immediate family member may be taking an exam.

Terms of Employment:


  • AP Exams take place during the week of May 6th and May 13th, Monday-Friday, from 7:30am 3:30pm
  • Proctors need to be available for either the 7:30am12:30pm morning exam, 11:30am3:30pm afternoon exam, or for the entire 7:30am3:30pm period.
  • Proctors for accommodation testing may need to be available as late as 6:00 pm.
  • Proctors do not need to be available and may not be scheduled for every day of testing.

Position Type:

Position as needed, non-eligible position. Full-time and part-time CCS Employees regularly scheduled during these hours are not eligible.
