    Sr. Data Analytics Engineer (Microsoft stack / Power BI)

    As a part of the Analytics Engineering team, you will provide advanced technical development, data analysis, and project management support for new/existing processes within the dept. You will also analyze and improve SQL DB structures as well as automate new procedures. You will maintain and update the company's medical reporting systems and all supporting process flows.

    This is a direct hire position.

    You can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • ETL development using both SSIS and Power BI
    • Design, develop, and thoroughly test applications and reports using tools such as Power BI, MS SQL, MS PRB, SSIS, DAX Studio, and Power Automate
    • Maintain, update, and ensure the accuracy of the data operations within the CDW and reporting/analytic layer used by Analytics leveraging support from Data Quality as needed
    • Support all inbound and outbound data loads that are aligned with the Analytics team (e.g., Medical Claims ingestion, Lab Data ingestion, Milliman input/output, IINT input/output, IPro input/portal, Mt Sinai outbound data, ad hoc claims extracts, etc.)
    • Perform at a high level of programming skills with a strong aptitude for reviewing, auditing, and analyzing data
    • Develop and maintain upstream data quality assurance process to check data accuracy and completeness before loading to any applications leveraging support from Data Quality as needed
    • Independently able to retrieve and interpret product or regulation specifications such as grouper input requirements, data requests, or federal transparency regulations
    • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of:
    • o Common healthcare utilization and cost metrics, including HEDIS
    • o Available data and how it is standardized and used in production reporting
    • o The overall effects of changes to database design, table structures, and calculated metrics
    • Maintain documentation of all development activity and review code development

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • 7+ years of experience with hands-on development and SQL Server stored procedures
    • 7+ years of experience in data analytics
    • 3+ years of ETL development
    • SSIS
    • Power BI
    • DAX Studio
    • Power Automate
    • Healthcare claims experience
    • Knowledge of claims processing and the various fields submitted with a claim, such as Universal Medical Billing
    • Working knowledge and experience in industry coding (revenue codes, ICD 9 & 10 classifications, CPT codes, etc.)
    • Knowledgeable of best practices for relational databases and schemas
    • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Informatics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
    • Excellent communication skills

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    • Master's degree
