We are looking for a well-qualified HR professional with exceptional interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships and provide consistent, high-quality customer service to support Wastewater Management (WWM) employees.

As our new HR Generalist I, you will be a critical member of our team, responsible for ensuring that our HR strategies align with our business goals and supporting our Team Members.

Under general supervision of the WWM HR manager, this position is responsible of the following:


  • Strategic HR Partnership: Facilitates the WWM recruitment process using standard recruiting procedures and hiring practices such as collaborates with hiring managers to update position descriptions, draft job advertisements, kickoff and debrief meetings, salary determination and hiring.
  • Assists in creating recruitment strategies for hardtofill positions.
  • FML Coordinator Assists with FMLA and ADA requests.
  • Assists with workers' compensation cases and ADA documentation.
  • Facilitates employee onboarding and offboarding to ensure a seamless experience for new hires and employees.
  • Makes recommendations for HR process & procedure improvements.
  • Helps with HRrelated projects such as design and deliver training programs to enhance employees' skills and capabilities.
  • Compiles HRrelated information and prepares reports.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations are followed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in human resource management, public administration, or a related field.

BRIDGE CLASS EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:


  • Four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned
- functional area, comparable to experience at the Administrative Assistant IV, or higher, level. This class can serve as a bridge class enabling individuals who do not meet the educational or professional experience standards listed above to qualify for this class by possessing four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Administrative Assistant IV, or higher, level.

The purpose of this bridge class is to promote upward mobility within the Fairfax County
- workforce. However persons qualifying for this class on the basis of their technical experience may not substitute this technical experience for education, or for professional experience, in order
