Job Description
SCOPE OF POSITION
The Lead Radiation Therapist coordinates activities of the Radiation Therapy Department.
Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to therapists, oversees staff in operation of treatment equipment, evaluates accuracy and quality of images, provides technical assistance, demonstrates new techniques, implements and monitors radiation safety measures, recommends personnel action, purchases supplies and equipment and makes recommendations concerning department operating budget.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
The Lead Radiation Therapist must be a registered RTT, have a current CPR certification, hold a current license as required by the state and/or national authority, have education and training that includes all ages of patients from pediatrics to geriatrics, have additional business and personnel management courses, and a minimum of 5 years of clinical radiation therapy experience preferably at a major radiation therapy center, two of which should be at the supervisory level.
