Job Summary:

The Perioperative Technician-OR performs direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).
Completes case carts and prepares the operating room (OR) rooms with supplies, instruments, and equipment.
Assists the surgical team, restocks supplies, and maintains inventory.
Helps with loaning and repair of equipment at surgical sites.
Assists with care and maintenance of equipment and supplies as required.
Utilizes interpersonal skills to ensure excellent customer service and safe patient care.
Contributes to a cooperative work environment among a diverse workforce and patient population.
Performs additional duties as necessary.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum six months nursing assistant experience or perioperative experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Proficient in using computer, printer, and necessary software programs.
Capable of troubleshooting and calibrating patient care equipment.
Skilled in performing basic patient care activities with proper body mechanics and safety precautions.
Effective communication and positive interaction with others.
Ability to follow policies, collaborate, and work well under pressure.
Proficiency in English and preferably Spanish for effective communication.
Basic math skills, organization, and workload prioritization.
Detail-oriented, able to function within scope of practice, and problem-solve with RN.
Strong sensory abilities in hearing, vision, and touch.
