Job Summary:
  • The Perioperative Technician-OR performs direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Completes case carts and prepares the operating room (OR) rooms with supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Assists the surgical team, restocks supplies, and maintains inventory.
  • Helps with loaning and repair of equipment at surgical sites.
  • Assists with care and maintenance of equipment and supplies as required.
  • Utilizes interpersonal skills to ensure excellent customer service and safe patient care.
  • Contributes to a cooperative work environment among a diverse workforce and patient population.
  • Performs additional duties as necessary.


Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum six months nursing assistant experience or perioperative experience preferred.


Knowledge and Skills:
  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Proficient in using computer, printer, and necessary software programs.
  • Capable of troubleshooting and calibrating patient care equipment.
  • Skilled in performing basic patient care activities with proper body mechanics and safety precautions.
  • Effective communication and positive interaction with others.
  • Ability to follow policies, collaborate, and work well under pressure.
  • Proficiency in English and preferably Spanish for effective communication.
  • Basic math skills, organization, and workload prioritization.
  • Detail-oriented, able to function within scope of practice, and problem-solve with RN.
  • Strong sensory abilities in hearing, vision, and touch.

Licensures and Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
