    Description
    Job Description

    The Surgical Technician handles equipment, supplies and instruments necessary during surgical procedures. Delivers safe patient care as directed by the registered nurse or physician. Demonstrates continued competence in treating and caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective. Responsible for the achievement of patient outcomes through implementation of critical pathways.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:
    • High school diploma required
    • Completion of a surgical technology program
    • Professional certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
    • Computer literacy required
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
    Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's or Associate's degree
    • Scrub experience as registered nurse, licensed vocational nurse, medical assistant may be considered and substituted in lieu of completion of surgical technologist program.
