Summary:

As a pharmacy technician at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels (CSRH-NB), you will work closely with Clinical Pharmacists to deliver top-notch pharmacy services with care and efficiency. Responsibilities:

• Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Perform non-judgmental technical duties under pharmacist supervision.
• Assist Pharmacists with Medication Histories.
• Train Tech I associates.
• Prepare drug orders per physician request according to established policies.
• Verify computerized patient medication records accurately.
• Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain records.
• Provide services efficiently and in a timely fashion.
• Verify daily department activities and maintain competency.
• Serve as the technician in specialty areas such as the operating room or IV room.
• Provide ambulatory pharmaceutical care services as assigned.
• Perform outpatient distributive functions related to prescription orders.
• Ensure safe and cost-effective drug therapies for patients.
• Read, extract, and interpret information in patient medical records accurately.
• Detect and report suspected adverse drug reactions.
• Provide drug information to pharmacy associates and patients.
• Participate in quality improvement and medication use review activities.
• Conduct designated interventions as defined in department Clinical Intervention activities.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Completion of an ACPE accredited IV certification program.
