Our People Team is looking for an ambitious, resourceful, and energetic People Operations Generalist to help drive ReFocus' People Operations in the Mid-Atlantic region.

ReFocus is in hyper-growth mode and looking to double our colleague base in the next 12-18 months.


We are looking for someone to standardize, administer, and reinforce our existing people operations and help grow our ReFocus team to 1,000+ colleagues by the end of 2024, with significant growth beyond
. You would provide overall People support to our leader and staff colleagues with colleague relation issues, leading key People projects, and answering general People policy, practice, compensation and benefits questions.

We Will Count on You To (Role & Responsibilities)**- Work weekly with ReFocus' leaders to determine their current People needs.

  • Create strategic ways to improve the relationship between ReFocus' leadership and its colleagues to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the People Team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Stay current on HR/People trends to develop solutions using current best practices in the field.
  • Manage and resolve complex colleague relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintain indepth knowledge of legal requirements related to daytoday management of colleagues, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with the legal department as needed/required. Draft new People policies in accordance with organizational goals, industry trends and labor laws or regulations.
  • Respond to colleague queries regarding policies, benefits, compensation, etc. as needed.
  • Support the development and implementation of our People policies and procedures, including maintaining the colleague handbook, and managing staff communication.
  • Provide daytoday performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Provide guidance and input on restructurings, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Work closely with People Ops and recruitment teams to help implement recruiting needs in this region.
  • Identify training needs for region.
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Manage extended leave of absence requests and associated paperwork/tracking/benefits, as needed.
  • Manage I9 process.
  • Ensure all required employment law posters and notices are posted and up to date.
  • Complete special projects as needed or requested.

What You Need to Have (Qualifications)**- A bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in employee / colleague relations and People Operations.

  • Reside in Pennsylvania or New Jersey (middle)
  • Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
  • Working knowledge of compensation and benefits.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal) with exceptional attention to detail and customer service.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.

What You are Expected to Do (Position Expectations)**- Work Environment: Remote home office. Expected to travel and work onsite within the region as often as needed

  • Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: Exempt, Full-Time
  • Travel: Up to 60% local (PA, NJ and MD) travel
